SBFP
The Strengthening Black Families (SBF) program is currently offered in different neighbourhoods across Montreal in partnership with the African-Canadian Development and Prevention Network. The program is offered in collaborations with:
- Community organizations
- Local schools (Elementary and High schools)
- Public institutions
The partners involved in the Strengthening Black Family Program are:
- McGill Center for Research for Children and Families
- CIUSSS
- Batshaw Youth and Family Centers
- School Boards
The program has been funded by Health Canada and Crime Prevention Canada for 12 consecutive years, and has been approved for an additional five-year funding by Crime Prevention beginning in Spring 2018.
The Strengthening Black Families program was the winner of the 2007 Kaiser Foundation for excellence in community programming.
